...a pain in the pancreas

Symptoms: intense sharp pains in abdominal region, feelings of nausea
Causes: a gall stone gone astray and lodging itself in pancreatic duct; blocking passage-way
Diagnosis: Pancreatitis
Treatments: rest, liquid diet, strong pain medication and an over night hospital stay

Yes my peeps. This is what we were faced with when on June 28th at 2am I find J-mann on all fours crouched in front of the toilet. A phone call to an on-call Dr., some convincing and an hour later we were on our way to the E.R.
Hoping to find nothing but a bad case of gas or food poisoning? an ultrasound and ct scan later J was diagnosed with Pancreatitis. Who knew of such a thing?

So, with orders to spend the night to ensure the gallstone worked itself out and all was well, J was able to experience his first night in a hospital bed, the wonders of strong pain medication and a hungry next day of all liquids. :)

We are grateful for all the prayers on his behalf and that his organs are all well again.
And when asked how he was doing on his first day back to work he simply explained,
"my organs need to rest."

Thanks so much for the cute card, by the way. It was so sweet of you to remember me and I loved getting/reading it. I had a great birthday and it definitely brightened my day! Love you!
