The Wintry Mix of 2/10/2010

I didn't have this pic. to post until now, but this is what it looked like on 2/10, when we were driving to work with all the crazies. It took me over 2 hours to get to work (usually a 20-25 minute drive).

And by noon, the sun was out and all the snowy roads were gone...it was like two different days!

J's B-Day Weekend!

Another snowstorm hit this past weekend...
creating a stay-at-home birthday extravaganza for the J Mann.

We stayed home all weekend again and watched movies, played games, shoveled a path to the BBQ so J could grill his birthday steak, enjoyed some hot coco, and...oh ya, had some famous birthday cake.

First Winter Storm of 2010

For most of you reading this blog, you are probably used to (and sick of) the snow by now, but for us Virginians, this is only the second snow storm of the season. It doesn't snow that often here, maybe one good snow a year. So we were surprised when it dumped another 14+ inches just a few weeks after a previous snow storm. And because it snowed on the weekend, church was canceled again.So, what do we do when we're snowed in?

Make sticky buns

Eat fruit

Play board games, read, watch movies (Michael Jackson's This is It!)

and, eventually, shovel the driveway (without a snow shovel)

Schools are still canceled and there is supposed to be a "wintry mix" (that means snow and rain/ice) again today and there is talk of another big storm this weekend!
