Random Festival

There is always a festival of some sort in Virginia. People are really supportive of local business/artists selling their unique crafts.
These pics. are from a local street festival by Bee's work.

These are some really unusual sculptures of animals. The picture doesn't do them justice; I think they look like something from Fraggel Rock.

I liked the pretty birdhouses!

They also had sidewalk chalk for the little ones.

On our way home, we saw the strangest thing....

You just never know what you'll see in Virginia; it's always an adventure

Fishing with a Dentist

Dr. Wright took all the staff fishing for spot fish out in Hampton, VA. This is him baiting his hook with blood worms.....non-edible:)

Brooke and Miss Barbara showing off our slimy worms. She told me that if I came on the trip, I would have to bait all of her hooks because of her weak stomach.

Admiring the beautiful boats docked on the bay.

Miss Barbara, Lisa, Dr. Wright, Brooke & Charles, after surviving the fishing trip. The two weaklings are shown here on the right- both Charles & I were the only two on the boat who got close to heaving over-board.

While we were all fishing for FISH, Charles decided to pick up some red coral reef, after assuring us all that it was going to be the biggest fish caught by the weight of it we all had a good laugh.

Camping Labor Day Weekend

We had a great time with a group of friends as we roasted dogs and mallows, fried up some bacon, cooked tinfoil breakfast (that's a first), put up the rain fly - in the rain, and played some Frisbee!

We reserved this little patch of land for our Labor Day camping trip. It was donated to the church and will most likely be the future site of a new Stake Center and host all the camping needs/events for the entire region. We're so lucky it's only 20 minutes from our place.

The manly men were proving their survival skills by fishing with their bare hands (and beef jerky) from the best (and only) dock on the lake.

Youth Car Wash

Our great Youth had a car wash fund raiser......

and lemonade stand!

We washed about 50 cars in 4 hours and were grateful for
the wonderful weather, resulting in Joshua's tiger- striped
burned feet.
