Driveway Upgrade

Kindergarten performance, Home Depot and meadow farm park

Grant's Kindergarten Performance was today and Baby Beluga was the theme! Grant knew all the words and actions, and while he seemed rather sleepy, he was happy to be there!:)

Grant was chosen in his class to have a speaking part and did great!

The Crew after the performance. :)

After helping Grant change into some play clothes for school, the rest of us headed to Home Depot for some more wood to finish the driveway project. Rockwell continues to prove that he is rather strong and helpful!

Then the girls dropped off Dad and Rockwell and went on to Playgroup at Meadow Farm Park. We ate lunch, played on the fun playgrounds and enjoyed throwing rocks in the stream and searching for animals.

We ended up finding some sheep and chickens!

A lovely worker spotted us and offered to catch a chicken for us to pet and admire. Ellory was ok with some distance between her and the animals. We left tired and hungry and Ellory enjoyed a little nap in the car. Good times!

Father & Son Camping May 2016

When the Stake father and son camp out was canceled, we found a spot where we could go fishing, roast hotdogs, make s'mores, play catch, and enjoy nature together.

Because the forecast was calling for rain Friday night and Saturday morning. We headed back to the house so we can camp in the tent we set up in the garage.

We had a great time!

We caught 3 fish in only a few minutes.

Grant was a little freaked out about the spiky fin on this blue gill.

S'mores are my favorite camping treat!

Grant was so tired he fell asleep on the way home.

But then he woke up so he could experience the tent.

Saturday fun!

We love Saturdays at home! The kids made a cozy hideout in the playroom to snuggle in after breakfast. I love seeing their creative imaginations at work.  Then, Joshua took Ellory & Grant to Home Depot for their free kid workshop while Bee landed some sweet yard sales with Rockwell!

Grant was quite excited to play with his new bucket of legos and Bee was excited they were only $2!! In the picture, he is doing his best impression of what a guard would look like. :)

Ellory was thrilled to play with some new Barbie dolls and drive them around in their beach cruiser. They were such a great deal that I couldn't pass them up, but I'm thinking she is still a bit too young to start playing with them?? I'll tuck them away in her closet for now :)

Then we went to Short Pump Mall to throw pennies in the fountains and make all sorts of wishes. (side note- Grant is hilarious to watch during his very thoughtful wish making process. He turns around, closes his eyes while mumbling his humble wish, then catapults the penny into all sorts of random landings- often not in the actual water :)

Catching protective big brother in action as he saves Ellory her acorn seat that she was periodically doing flips off.

Siblings getting along with each other is one of my all time favorite sites to see. :)

Zoo field trip

Grant's class went to the Richmond Metro Zoo for a field trip and we all decided to take advantage of dad's day off work and great discounts to join the fun!

Grant's class posing with the flamingos!
(Grant, Summer, Emma, Justin, Mason, Matthew, Samira, Emily, Natali, Isabella, Storm)

all the kids were anxious to see what was behind the fence while we were waiting for the animal show to begin.

grant and oliver ended up being zoo buddies and ran around with each other, feeding the animals. The giraffes and their extremely long tongues were the favorite! Each time Oliver would run too fast and spill his food, Grant would run over and quickly give him some of his own. He's a great friend!
