Saturday Morning With Dad

While Bee went on a youth temple trip, it was just Dad and the kiddos on a lovely Saturday!
They went around to a few yard sales, but came home empty handed, played at Carver Elementary playground and found some hungry ducks to feed bread.

Happy Memorial Day

This Memorial Day was spent working hard with cleaning projects around the house in the morning
(j power washing) and then playing with friends at a BBQ!

G was quick to jump right in with all the adults to test out a game of badminton.

among other things, ellory has found a new love for hotdogs

and corn on the cob!

Color me rad run!

I signed up with 4 girlfriends for the Richmond 5K Color Me Rad Run!
My first ever running anything since being timed in junior high gym class. I had some serious good cheerleaders along with some pregnancy adrenaline that kept me going the whole time
(aside from a quick bathroom and water break:)

geared up and on my way!

all set with our tattoos and pink glasses
let the fun begin!
we made it!
 post-race dance party!

for the record, my hips were something sore for the following 2 days! ha! guess there is a reason people train for these types of events. :)

Check up for the kiddos

Today we had check up appointments for both g and little lady. Not sure if that was the best thing to have them on the same day- but at least they are done:) We had been told by some friends that g's 4 year check up was a big one as far as shots and a blood sample go:( so we made sure to practice a few times in advance.
Here is G completing his eye test:

Deep breaths for Dr. Marks.

Primed and ready, G had his finger poke first and then his 4 shots. He took it all like a man! :)

Apparently, I was too busy with little lady to ever take her picture- but she also did wonderful! go team!
Do not be deceived by his silly expression- he was quite happy with his bowl of ice cream after-wards! :)

 The stats:
G-man @ 4 years old: Weight- 33 lbs. Height- 39 1/4"
Little Lady @ 15 months old: Weight-18 lbs. 2.5 oz. Height- 29 5/8"

So grateful for happy, healthy kiddos!

Benefits of moms nesting

I think I must be in the nesting phase already because all I want to do is repair/ redo something. Since we are not finding out the gender, we will wait to decide which room to put the little one in and therefore my sudden zest can not be put towards readying a nursery. So I'm starting with re painting our front porch and awning area. It's always been a pale creamy avocado? Color, not to mention rusted and will now be a lovely crisp white!
before:

starting to see a difference:
(for the record, that lovely hanging flower pot has recently become the home to a very protective mama bird and her 6? eggs. so exciting to see nature at its best!)

G man hasn't seemed to mind being able to watch his pooh bear movies while camping out in his Thomas the train tent perched alongside me in the front yard.
It can be so much fun having a little buddy and I loved that as I'm painting along, a sudden loud burst of his laughter will erupt from the tent and he'll poke out his head to replay it to me. Who knew pooh bear was so funny??
Love his sense of humor!:)
