While Bee is away, the pirates will play :-)

Bee went to The River House for a youth activity and G and I went to the park for a pirate party!

monkey tree

oh boy. little g man is officially a monkey boy. he is always climbing and swinging from whatever he can get his hands and grippy feet on to. whenever we go to playgrounds, he will find the tallest (and most dangerous!) obstacle to climb, leaving me reaching above my head, into thin air with a silent prayer that he does not fall to the ground. mothers are always looking either in amazement of his skills or completely appalled that i would be letting him do such big kid things. alas! let the boy have fun, right?!

(here is a picture of our little monkey goof ball!)

anyway, rewind to church last sunday. there we are trying to peacefully sit in preparations of receiving the sacrament, when g and his lovely imagination jump down from the pew, grab the one in front of us and begin swinging, while saying "i'm swinging in the monkey treee! i'm swinging!" so hard to hold a straight face. j man tries to explain how church is no playground to be swinging from, when g continues merrily on. up and out of the chapel he goes in j's arms (a rather rare occurrence) where he finds an empty classroom, sits him on the chair and proceeds to give g the no swinging zone spill, when g very sincerely interrupts to say "nice tie, dad". j trying to keep it together and discipline g then says with his head tilted to the side, "i like your tie, dad".
oh boy are we in trouble!! a 2 year old sweet talking his way out of a lecture. too funny not to shake your head and give him a kiss!

(pictures are not taken at church:), but simply demonstrate just how much fun dad and g have together!)

where does he get it from?

today my g man has had me laughing and been leaving me speechless with all sorts of new phrases he is saying. a few instances...
while looking at the blue star on our front door, he said "wow, that's amazing!"
when told that we would be going to the swimming pool he said, "oh! it will be so awesome!"
while helping me clean the front door windows, he accidentally opened the door, knocking it into my knees. immediately, he said "oh, mama i'm sorry. you ok? you hurt?" very concerned.
discovering a king's crown, he promptly placed in on his head then said," hey, who's that funny guy?"
and while sitting on the front porch, very sweetly putting his hand on my shoulder and nose right up to my nose, saying "how's it going bee?" he has started to randomly interchange calling me mom and bee. too funny!
his enthusiasm and sincerity for life are contagious. love that little man!

and the photo? has nothing to do with this post, other than the fact that it shows how silly we can be together. (this is from a train ride a few months back)

we're back... celebrating the wonder of love!

so apparently we have been on sabbatical from the blogging world. so sad to think all that we have missed documenting (ie. g's 2nd birthday, bee and her YW, utah trip, etc). that will serve as my reminder for when i am wondering what to do with my life and have the thought to back log some events.
alas! sometimes you just have to start picking up the pieces and rolling with it, so here we go again. :)

in celebration of our 8 year wedding anniversary: wa-hoo!!

and thanks to some true blue friends (team evans and tennants), we were able to sneak away for the weekend to check out lynchburg, virginia and visit The Natural Bridge.

The drive there reminded me of driving through provo canyon in the spring and then being on the countryside of some quaint little European town. just breathtaking!

now the actual bridge was pretty sweet to see up close. made me really appreciate all that God went through in planning out every little detail when creating the earth. He really is a God of miracles! my sore calves and not so lovely blisters on both heels were worth the view.

after the bridge viewing adventure, we went through a butterfly house to hold little beauties like this one and watch them fly around up close.

and all of that wonderfulness bundled together to celebrate 8 awesome years of marriage! thanks to my prince who rode up in his hot red car, was not intimidated by my extreme blondness, gave me butterflies in my tummy with each date night together, taught me that it's good to laugh at life, showed me what it meant to be a worthy priesthood holder, fed me plenty of yummy frozen yogurt, introduced me to his family as a "vegan" (not true btw!), treated me like a princess, and after all the emotional roller coasters and mixed signals that only a young girl too scared to admit she was in love can hand out, decided to propose and marry me!
 lucky girl indeed!

happy anniversary baby love! how about we stay this way for forever?! love you!

pretty sure...

well! for the past few months or so, who is really counting? ha!, i have been experiencing some new symptoms. quite a wide variety  in fact. while thinking about each one, i have realized that they all include the lack of something else. no complaints here, just reality. :)
some examples:
- a lack of a menstrual cycle
- an extreme lack of appetite
- a lack of patience (sorry, g man!)
- a lack of energy & enthusiasm
- a lack of an over all feeling of well-being
so, if you haven't guessed it yet. the above witnesses are due to pregnancy. even as i am typing this, it seems surreal. with the g man, i did not experience any of these sorts and it has really thrown me for a loop, but apparently these are all rather common and normal amongst expecting mothers. we are totally excited and anxious to discover if we will be welcoming home bubbles or dirt, pearls or rocks, dolls or sharks, cinderella or buzz light year! whatever the gender, we are totally up for the adventure!
