Ohio Fun!

Well yes, it's true. The g-man and his bee mama ventured out on our first road trip. 10 hours to be exact. thanks a million to alixa and crew for having us on-board.
the wonderful garr fam. was worth every second spent in the long car ride! thanks lo, randy, brogy and ryk! you guys and gal rock!

g-man fell head over heels for this little van. not quite tall or strong or just knowledgeable enough? to know how to move it while inside, but he was perfectly content sitting there and imagining all the places he could go. so funny!

i think he is still deciding whether he acutally is enjoying this swing ride. hopefully he didn't inherit his mother's weak stomach for swings. ugh.

lake eerie anyone?
this is what is means to go "to the beach". love it! fresh water and no scary fish to have to worry about. you can tell from the pics that we are both working on our summer tans! ha! :)

g didn't last too long being washed up on shore in the water, but was perfectly fine being loner man with me on the sand.

here are the beauts! and i'm not just talking about all the fresh produce at the local farmers market!

thanks to lo, g-man made it through the farmers market with
her helpful suggestion to let him ride on the stroller. it was a grand ride for him after that.

african wildlife safari park ride-
words and even pictures simply can not express how utterly crazy it is to have a gigantic bison, elk, animal creature with long horns, etc. stick their head inside your car. not to mention feeding them carrots and being slimed by their slobber showers. yuck!

crazy stuff, eh?

after the slime fest, i apparently enjoyed the slide!
are you ever really too old to go down a slide?

more fun in the backyard. g-man swimming and trying to figure out how to climb up then slide down the long pink piece of plastic.

last night in Ohio and the gals went.....what else? shopping!
the dressing rooms were already closed, so we found ourselves a mirror and away we went. twinners!

while shopping at the sweet outlets, we took some time to enjoy the dalmation pup and jeep!

and it's always good to be missed!

thanks to our most gracious hostess and cutest family! we had so much fun!

Earthquake in VA

For those of you who haven't heard, we experienced an earthquake that shook the earth on the East coast this afternoon. It was 5.9 mag. and about 40 miles away from Richmond.

As far as I know, there was no damage - just the shaking of the ground for about 30 seconds or so, which helps you remember how incredibly vulnerable we can be.

However, I'm sure the news stations will have a hay day with this for the next week or so....not to mention the impending hurricane ... they will have live coverage of that for the entire weekend too :)

Is it just me?

Is it just me or is the velcro stuff they use on diaper tabs amazing?

It sticks anywhere on the diaper without a counterpart, it holds until you pull it off, it doesn't have little jagged pointy pieces, and it's never let me down.

I think this should be marketed for all-purpose usage - like duct tape!

Alone Again

So, here I am, alone for the week while Bee and G enjoy some time in The Ohio with our friends.

To keep myself busy, I made myself a long list of chores to accomplish before their return:

Fix sinks
Replace light bulbs
Spray bug spray
Water flowers (thank goodness for rain :)
Eat ice cream
Wash car (thank goodness for rain :)
Watch movies
Clean off deck
Inspect mysterious leak at back door
Troubleshoot fridge noises

read and try to keep mind occupied on everything other than the fact i miss my honeybee and g-man!

Happy Anniversary Beach Trip!

It's been 7 amazing years since Bee and I were married and we still love a good adventure together!

To celebrate our anniversary this year, we decided to head to VA Beach and give G his first taste of the ocean since he visited the many shores of Hawaii when he was only 6 weeks old.

We were eager to see how he would respond to the ocean and sand. We weren't sure if he would be scared, excited, or somewhere in between, but when we made it to the beach, he was "all in!" He loved it, and we should have known he would ... he loves a good adventure too!

G - testing out his surfing legs on the luggage cart at the hotel :)

G loved stretching out on the big chair after the long car ride.

G's sleeping quarters....pack n' play in the bathroom, with a towel for a door.
he had a long day at the beach and slept like a champ!

G loves playing around on big beds!

baby lotion in mouth and working on his stretches!
