Tornadoes in Virginia - Injure 200 +

Just wanted to let any of you following the news about the tornadoes that touched down in Virginia on Monday know that the closest tornado to us was about 30 miles south.
We are safe and were not affected by the tornadoes, but will be praying for those who were.

Guess Who's Moving?!?

Load 'em up...

Head 'em up...

Move 'em out...

Well, it's about time to break the news to everyone....

We helped Bee's friend move the other weekend. :) (Did we getchya?) We single handedly moved everything out of the truck and up the stairs! Bee is buff! And, we managed to do it just before it started raining buckets on us! The sleeper sofa was a beast! But we got 'er done!

Camping Date

For one of our recent date night adventures, we decided to do a camping theme. We went to our friends where we busted out some of our 72 hour kit survival food (MREs)....surprisingly not too shabby. It's good to know you will actually like the food you will be forced to eat in a survival situation. :)

And for dessert, we made banana boats in the oven! These were so yummy!
Then, we got our gear together, the headlamp is a must.

And headed into the Woods'.....front room, to set up our tent!
J needed a little extra help getting the poles in. Those things can be a bit tricky indoors.

Once the tent was all set up, we played cards and watched the stars...on tv, of course!

Ahhrg!

This is our friend, the Pirate.
This is our friend, the Pirate, in his ship.
Savvy?

Indian Flavored Pringles

Tennessee Bound Were We!
At the end of March, we decided to surprise Bee's parents at an exclusive Parents only get-away in Gatlinburg, TN. We decided to drive as far as we could on Thursday night, before stopping for a place to sleep. We only stopped off to grab something healthy to eat at BK (Burger King) in Roanoke. We used our 2 for 1 coupons and almost took a picture of the exuberant staff...but we didn't.
After about 5 hours, we decided we should pull off and get some shut eye. We took the next exit that had a hotel listed and we ended up under the red glow of the Budget Inn just outside of Marion, VA. We were definitely in the sticks! This was a locally operated motel that had to have been built and furnished in 1971.
We enjoyed the green glow of our room (especially the bathroom), but the one thing that drove us nuts was the smell. It smelt like... Indian Flavored Pringles. I'm sure that's not politically correct, but hey, if you can spend a night there and give us a different description, we'll change it. We asked for some air freshner, and the manager didn't even hesitate; it was like she was asked that several times a night. The smell even woke J up in the middle of the night. He gave the can a spray and it scared Bee half to death.
Ahh, the adventures of last minute road trip motel stays...

Next up on our road trip adventure was our very first stop in Tennessee. We decided to grab some gas and something to eat....the Inn promoted coffee and donuts, but when I asked for a donut the next morning, the coffee was out and she grabbed a handful of Little Debbie honey buns and said, "have a donut" so...we were still a little hungry. Anyway, we found this sweet little market called Andy's Market. It used to be a gas station, but now it sold everything, but gas. They had the regular gas station food inside, but they also had a kitchen for made-to-order items and a sitting area with TVs and plenty of Nascar paraphernalia! Bee had a BLT and J had a plate of southern biscuits and gravy. As we left, they were firing up the BBQs for their special cookin'

Once we reached Gatlinburg, we made our way to the reserved cabin and surprised Bee's parents and enjoyed our time with her grandpa's exciting family!
We spent some time wondering the (tourist trap) streets of Gatlinburg with family.
And went to a show with the entire fam. We went to the Comedy Barn and it was good, clean, fun.

We even won a car! just kidding :)

But after a weekend that was way too short, we were back in the car with our road trip food (donut) and made the 7 hour trip back home in one straight shot.
Don't you just love a good road trip?

Crazy Vegas!

Good morning Vegas!

Arriving at 2am, and after only 4 hours of sleep we were quite tired the next day.
With only being in Vegas 5 hours, everyone knew they had to keep an eye
on me when this gambling dude gave me $20 in chips
for choosing the right color for his $1500 victory. Wa-hoo!

And that's what you get for gambling without gambling!:)

Dr. Wright, Joann and myself in "World's Largest Souvenir Shop".
We know how to have a good time with these XL cowboy hats!

Fortune Cookie madness! This was my dessert at this fancy Tao
restaurant. Everyone was laughing at the fact that I was taking
a picture of it, not at my green tights.:)

I had Rochelle take a picture of me doing
my favorite Vegas activity- talking
to my J-love on the phone.

All the group at the top of the Stratosphere.
We were planning to have dinner here, but after running late
for our reservations with an added 20min. wait time, we opted
to make our plane instead.
B, Rochelle, Regina, Charles(in the back) Joann, Dr. Wright & Barbara

Waiting in the Valet parking for our
coolest mini van.
All the girls: Barb, Brooke, JoJo, Ro, and Gina.

Here we are during our last lay-over, ready to
get home to Virginia!
Barbara said she was too tired to smile and Joann
said her eyes looked bloodshot, hence the glasses.
