Bite-sized food in high places...

So, yesterday after cleaning our carpets and creating bleach rounds throughout we decided to celebrate with what we thought was going to be a simple, eat some hamburgers and chips BBQ. We quickly realized how out of our league we were, when we saw orange cones lining the street and a sign stating "Valet Parking" posted at the house. We knew this was the correct house, but surely the Valet Parking did not pertain to our vehicle. So we flipped the car around, followed the row of Valet parked cars, and found our place at the end of the line.

We paused to take a picture of the front of the house

and the Valet attendees were surprised to realize that we were actual guests, walking :) up the driveway. We entered through the front door and somehow found our way to the back door and outside to the patio. Greeted by a stream of people gathering around to partake of the surprise blessing to be given by Pastor "John", we quickly found a corner and stayed put.

For those of you wondering why at 6:02pm on Saturday, July 18th J & Bee could be found awkwardly retreating to a corner in the backyard of a mansion...
we were attending the birthday party for Dr. & Mrs. Wright's 1 year old grandbaby girl (B's boss).
Coming to our senses, we made our way to B's co-workers and had a great time hanging out all fancy style. You can imagine J's disappointment when promises of a hamburger turned out to be bite-sized, literally. They were the size of a quarter and J commented that "no wonder these people stay so thin".

All in all, we had a great time and considered ourselves and our comfort zones to be stretched to new levels. We were grateful for the opportunity to take part in something we imagined only happened to those make believe characters in movies.

Bon Apetit!

Sheesh - - what a house! I guess dentists don't do so bad, do they? LOL (That is, assuming that you still work in a dental office, Brooke! :)... and if so, it's got to be an oral surgeon, right?!)
You two are always up to an adventure! I love it.
We have some good friends from our ward moving out there next month to go to MBA school. I'll have to find out where exactly (I always forget the city & school) and see if it's close to you...
