To celebrate our 10 year!!! Anniversary, we took a lovely getaway to stonewall resort in West Virginia!
Here we are stopping along the way to stretch our legs and admire the green beauty!
Jumping into the delicious buffet dinner at the resort.
We took an adventure the next day and went to a small town near by...
As in, all the adorable signs boasting of lovely things inside were really abandoned stores. Other than a gigantic antique store
And this little ma and pap cafe. As we were making our way down the street, looking for a place to eat, we were encouraged when we saw 3 ladies outside eating. So in we walked,.. And they followed behind!
Apparently, the 3 ladies outside were the workers for this gem of a place. Burgers and fries for lunch... Due to the crazy conditions of this place, I prayed I wouldn't get food poisoning. :)
I thought of g buddy when we saw these giant sunflowers!
Across this bridge is a large building which used to be one of the biggest operating insane asylums...
As part of the resort, they offer nightly cruises around the lake. We decided to check it out and thought we were waiting in the correct pick up place, when away we see the boat sailing- without us on board! :( oops!
And ate a lovely dinner at the top of this little mountain
Where j splurged for some good ol steak dinner!
And cheesy ravioli for bee:)
Second try- we made it on board the lake cruise!
Breakfast each morning was a buffet, complete with made to order waffles!
The resort also offered a variety of water sports rentals and j tried out the stand up paddle board, yolo!
Then thinking it looked do able for me and my belly, I gave it a try too! Really easy and fun!
J and the fat daddy ice cream cookie sandwich we enjoyed!
While lounging in the front lodge area, this lovely couple joined us and starting playing tunes, including sweet hour of prayer... So peaceful
Hooray for a happy marriage, happy 10 year celebration and happy children to be able to play with a generous grandma and grandpa so we could get away!
