simple celebrations

for little man g's First Birthday- we were all about keeping it simple. with grandma jo and aunt-e in town, we decided to do some Firsts with g. we woke up to discover the easter bunny had left some delic goodies,

including none other than TRIX for breakfast!
who knew they even still made those things?

so g enjoyed his first taste of a sugar-coated cereal.

then we went to his 1st petting zoo, where he saw live bunnies
(which he loves! he wakes up each day with his little fingers in bunny ear position, saying "hop, hop, hop". such perfect timing for an eastery holiday!)
his 1st touch of the water fountain.
(apparently the only finger allowed to enjoy the water, is his pointer)

and back home for some bunny cake eating! a big thanks to grandma for creating this masterpiece!

we placed the entire cake before g and belted out a wonderful rendition of Happy Birthday, as he patiently sat waiting for us to finish, so he could taste test his cake.
then he hesitantly placed his one little pointer finger in the frosting and gave me the first taste.
once he figured out it was edible and delicioso! the manners flew out and the fun began!

red velvet cake with a white onsie! perfect! :)
it was straight to the shower after his finger painting masterpiece was complete!

how we love our rambunctious little man!
i will have to post his stats and skills later.
we are so grateful grandma jo and aunt-e were here to celebrate!

happy birthday sweetheart!

How fun! Sounds like little G had a great birthday full of firsts. He's lucky to have such an awesome Mommy! When do I finally get to meet him? :)
